With Groove & Guidance, I offer a personal approach to teaching that goes far beyond traditional music education.
It’s about feel, timing, sound, mindset – and about supporting you in growing as a musician.
Whether you’re just getting started or already performing on stage:
you’ll receive tailored bass coaching, honest feedback, and inspiration that truly stays with you.
I’m a musician, bassist, composer – and a passionate teacher.
For over 25 years, I’ve been moving between stage, studio, and classroom.
I’ve worked with artists such as Peter Fox, Söhne Mannheims, Dendemann, Nneka, Clueso, and many others – and released my own project ME&YOU in 2019.
But I’m not just “on tour.”
I’ve also been teaching in schools for many years – both in a public school and a progressive democratic school.
So I understand how differently people learn – and what it really takes for musical learning to work: trust, depth, and genuine enthusiasm.
For me, music is not a competition, but a space for connection.
With Groove & Guidance, I offer honest, personal lessons – and musical mentoring that follows your path, not a standardized curriculum.
“I believe in individual growth – and that great teaching is built on trust, not performance.”
My teaching is for:
- ambitious beginners and intermediate players
- musicians transitioning or looking for more depth
- anyone who wants to truly understand and live groove & feel
Tim Steiner ": "Edward has helped me take some truly important steps – not only in my bass playing and everything that comes with it, but far beyond that… No matter where a bassist gets stuck, Edward is the guy to turn to. "
Orlando Rometti "Working with Edward deeply improved my sense of rhythm, pulse, and timing through clear, effective methods. What truly sets him apart is his empathy and ability to meet you exactly where you are."
Adrian Kehlbacher: „No matter your level on electric or upright bass – or your age – Edward’s calm teaching style and deep experience will always help you take the next step, both as a musician and on your instrument.“

❓ FAQ – Groove & Guidance
Bass Lessons & Musical Mentoring
1. What is “Groove & Guidance”?
A musical mentoring format for people who want to go deeper – into timing, sound, groove, and their own expression.
It’s not about perfect technique, but about musicality, presence, and your unique path.
2. How is this different from traditional bass lessons?
It’s not just about scales and technique – it’s about the musical personality behind it.
Groove & Guidance combines bass lessons with personal mentoring:
What do you want to express musically? What’s holding you back? What do you need to feel more free?
3. I’m not a beginner, but not a pro either – is this for me?
Absolutely. Many of my students are somewhere in between:
they play, but sometimes lack direction, flow, or confidence.
That’s exactly where Groove & Guidance comes in.
4. I only play bass as a hobby – is it worth it?
Especially then.
I work with many people who have limited time in their daily lives but still want to grow musically.
Groove is a way of feeling – not a competition.
5. What does “mentoring” mean in this context?
Beyond the musical aspects (timing, sound, expression, etc.), we also look at your personal topics:
blocks, stage fright, creative ideas, band projects, or career questions – whatever is relevant for you right now.
6. How does an online session work?
We meet via Doozzoo (or a platform of your choice).
You’ll need your bass, an amp, internet, and a camera.
I guide you through exercises, offer input, listen, and answer your questions – all tailored to you.
No rigid system.
7. Can I just book a single session?
Yes! You can book a single session with no commitment and see how it feels.
Many people continue afterwards – but there’s no pressure.
8. How long is a session? And how often should I join?
A session lasts 45 minutes.
Some people come weekly, others every two or three weeks – depending on their schedule and goals.
You set the pace.
9. What do I need for online lessons?
- Electric bass + amp (or audio interface)
- Computer or tablet with camera & microphone
- Stable internet connection
For my live online lessons, I mainly use the specialized platform Doozzoo.
It’s easy to use, browser-based, and offers excellent audio and video quality.

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the session.
After that, the session will be charged, as the time slot has been reserved for you.
15. I feel rusty. Is that embarrassing?
Not at all.
Honestly, most people come with doubts or after taking a break.
I don’t work with perfection – I work with real people.
And music is more forgiving than you think.
16. I mainly want to improve my feel. Does that work via Zoom?
Absolutely.
It’s not just about technique – it’s about music as communication.
Many of my students say they feel more confident and free musically after the sessions – even online.
17. Do you also support creative processes or musical projects?
Definitely.
Whether you’re writing your own songs, starting a band, or developing ideas –
